Bryce Hales

Pastor

Bryce has been Trinity's pastor since 2022 and moderates the Session. A Westmont grad with an M.Div. from the University of Glasgow, he is completing doctoral work at Covenant Seminary and has pastored since 2006 in California, Utah, and Colorado. He and his wife, Ashley, have four children, Ezra, Porter, Camden, and Harriet, and he is on a lifelong hunt for SLO's best guacamole.

Director of Sunday Operations

Lucas came to the Central Coast to study mechanical engineering at Cal Poly in 2006 and has belonged to Trinity since 2017, where he met his wife, Audrey. He enjoys cooking, baking, a well-scrutinized argument, and a cringe-worthy pun. Lucas, Audrey, and their three children live in San Luis Obispo.

Children's Ministry Director

Emily grew up on the Oregon coast but has called the Central Coast home for more than twenty years. She helped start Trinity's children's ministry in a tiny room at the Odd Fellows Hall and now leads a devoted team of volunteers. She and her husband, Tom, have two kids, Owen and Charlotte.

Alayna works from the Pacific Northwest, where she has served as a virtual assistant since 2012 and loves using her administrative gifts to support others. She and her husband, Jamison, homeschool their three children, Josiah, Judah, and Adeline.

Bret came to Trinity around his 1999 graduation from Cal Poly and leads the music team while also serving as an elder. A structural engineer by trade, he enjoys reading, board games, grilling, and a good glass of wine. He and his wife, Andrea, have two daughters, Natalie and Naomi.

Mike Heying

Mike moved from the Midwest to California about twenty years ago and soon found his way to SLO and to Trinity. A Cal Poly faculty member, he brews beer for both recreation and research. He and his wife, Amanda, have three boys, Collin, Anderson, and Elliot.

Cal Stevens

Witness

A Southern California native, Cal settled on the Central Coast in 2014 after careers in Christian ministry, organizational development, and teaching business at Cal Poly. Now retired, he is helping Trinity grow in its public witness to the community and beyond.

Chris grew up in Southern California and came to SLO to study English at Cal Poly. A member since 2017, she loves the Central Coast, time with family, and any excuse to host. She brings years of executive leadership and an MBA to her role.

Discipleship

A Los Angeles native and retired missionary to Central Asia, Allen and his wife, Rosalie, came to Trinity in 2016. He enjoys gardening, writing, and hiking, and brings a wealth of ministry experience to his leadership in discipleship.

Community Groups

Andrea came to SLO in 1996 to study journalism at Cal Poly and has been part of Trinity since 2000, serving as a community group and liturgy leader. As a Session Advisor she directs Trinity's community groups.

Mercy Team

The Mercy Team provides tangible care for our church members and neighbors in SLO, the hands and feet of Trinity's generosity. If you have a need for prayer, meals, errands, basic necessities, or fellowship, please let us know.

Lillian Bucton

A member since 2011, Lillian has served in Children's Sunday School and on the Prayer Team. A licensed clinical social worker for thirty-five years, she now volunteers with a local nonprofit serving victims of human trafficking, and enjoys long walks, travel, and time with friends and family.

Jim Hawthorne

Jim, a retired physician, and his wife, Dotty, an artist, are longtime SLO residents who returned in 2021 after five years in Portland and joined Trinity. He enjoys puttering, tutoring, and serving as a docent at Mission San Luis Obispo, and treasures time with their three children's families and eight grandkids.

Rosalie Pritzlaff

A San Jose native, Rosalie is a retired missionary to Central Asia and a former ESL teacher at Cuesta College. She and her husband, Allen, came to Trinity in 2016, and she enjoys reading, crocheting, walking, and traveling.

Colleen Wall

From California's Central Valley, Colleen has lived in SLO since 2005 and teaches choral music and piano. In 2016 she founded Coastline Arts, a community music program in Los Osos, and away from the piano she enjoys reading, movies, travel, and gardening.
