Advent & Christmas
When God Comes to Town.
Advent in Isaiah, Sundays from November 29. Christmas Eve at 4pm.
Advent comes from the Latin word adventus, meaning "arrival" or "coming." It looks back to the coming of the promised Savior and forward to our King's return. Isaiah spoke God's word to people who did not want to hear it, and painted vivid pictures of the Messiah who was coming. When he arrived, only a few noticed.
This Advent, we'll let Isaiah show us what happens when God comes to town: he brings real hope, peace, joy, and love, and those who receive his gifts become the people who carry them to others. Join us as we look back and look forward to what happens When God Comes to Town.
